Achievements in Publicity

Priority PR Clients Gain Top Notch Media Exposure in First Quarter of 2011

Seizing 2011 as a year with ample opportunity for media exposure, Priority PR has already scored major media placements for its clients, landing high level publicity breaks in outlets including The New York Times, The Financial Times, Time Magazine, The Los Angeles Times, Le Monde, Le Figaro and The Vancouver Sun.

Kicking off the year in high achievement, Priority PR secured a feature in The New York Times for its client Rainmaker Entertainment.  Catherine Winder, the president and executive producer of Rainmaker Entertainment, was profiled in Adam Bryant’s column, “The Corner Office,” on January 2.

In mid-January, on behalf of its client MGM Studios, Priority PR handled the rollout of Me-TV, a television network offering classic television sitcoms, dramas and classic commercials and targeted for digital broadcast stations.  Garnering widespread media coverage in both the U.S. business and entertainment trade press, Priority PR secured major hits including coverage in Time Magazine’s Tech Blog and a feature in The Los Angeles Times.

Completing another major assignment in January, Priority PR worked with The Financial Times and landed a feature story on media entreprenuer Harry Sloan, who spoke exclusively with journalist Matthew Garrahan on the need for the entertainment industry to adopt new business models on a global scale.  The story garnered global pickup, running online and in the print edition of the Financial Times.

In February, Priority PR managed a press junket in Paris on behalf of Sundance Channel with “Mad Men” creator Matthew Weiner and series stars Christina Hendricks and John Slattery.  With “Mad Men” series 1 joining the Sundance Channel in France in high definition, Priority PR secured more than 40 French consumer outlets to attend the press junket held at the Royal Monceau Hotel in Paris.  Coverage was secured across the board in major media outlets.

Priority PR was active in this year’s Oscar season and worked closely with Craig Berkey, one of the top sound designers in the feature film business.  Berkey has been nominated for two Academy Awards for his work in the Coen Brothers’ acclaimed remake of True Grit, for sound editing and sound mixing.

Jeff Pryor, the head of Priority PR, said, “Suffice it to say, when we step up to the plate, we go for the home run and we have a strong swing which has help us to build an impressive track record of consumer, business and financial press coverage for our clients.  The hallmark of our company is to produce results for our clients.”

At the upcoming Film Finance Forum West presented by Winston/Baker in Association with Variety on March 8-10, Priority PR clients will also be participating in the event as panelists.

What to do at comic-con 2010

This year’s Comic-Con International attendees will be among the first to get a peek at—and maybe even a copy of—RIP M.D., the new graphic novel from Lincoln Butterfield Animation and Fantagraphics Books. Exclusive preview copies will be available at the Fantagraphics booth (#1718), at $12.99 each.

I've been fortunate to meet the guys and to finally see this beauty finished is exciting.

RIP M.D. was written and illustrated by Schauer, an Emmy® Award winning producer, writer and designer. Comic book veteran Mike Vosburg has brought his innovative, illustrative style to the artwork’s inking, and Michael Lessa and Justin Yamaguchi have created a whole new look for RIP M.D. with their cinematic color and special effects expertise.

Comic-Con attendees can meet Mitch Schauer and Mike Vosburg during a special autograph session at 10:00AM, Saturday, July 24, 2010, also at Fantagraphics Booth #1718.

Car crashes and cage fights...sounds like a great night to me!!

EXCITING NEWS!!!

I've been a fan of boxing for a few years now and like to consider myself one of those purists who percieve it as a beautiful sport and a strict discipline. That said, there is that small part of me that simply gets a rush from seeing someone get knocked the hell down. The roar of the crowd as the beer and pretzels fall from the sky...good times. I don't know what this says about me...but that's by the by.

So imagine my excitement when I see our latest release regarding Mighty Oak Entertainment's new show Knock Out Sports World which, "From rage in the ring to carnage in the cage, features the sports worlds most spectacular knockouts while celebrating the athletes who have taken their hits on the way to the top." In short we are going to see people...you guessed it...'get knocked the hell down." Spectacular times!!!! Check out this tiny clip;

If that wasn't enough to wet your appetite they are also offering up another adrenaline filled show called Sports Crash which showcases "the greatest crashes in the world of sports." So for those of you who watch Grand Prix...it's all the best parts of that in one show from all kinds of sports. I've said it once, I'll say it again...GOOD TIMES!!! Check out the promo below;

MDA International Film Fund Cocktail Party

Priority hosted a cocktail party last week at Le Merigot Hotel in Santa Monica and I was fortunate enough to attend. I was manning the sign-in book and got to meet some really awesome people. We were hosting the event for the MDA (Media Development Authority) since they had just announced the release of Neon Sign, the first film to receive support from the MDA’s International Film Fund.

I got to meet Pil Gam-Sung, the director, who was incredibly passionate about his film and I look forward to watching it in 2011. Anyway, check out our release for more details.

MGM DOMESTIC TELEVISION TO LAUNCH DISCOVERY CHANNEL’S HIT SERIES “CASH CAB” INTO U.S. SYNDICATION

YES! More Cash Cab coming our way!

I fell in love with this show a few years ago back in England. I think I was a student at the time (Good Ol' Days) and it's genius! The premise, in case you didn't already know, is simple yet effective. The shows host drives a cab and waits for someone/a group to flag the cab for a ride. Once in the cab the game begins.

To be honest, just watch the clip below...you will get the idea.

Anyway, MGM are looking to Syndicate the show for Fall 2010. We issued a Press Release this morning - HERE

I'm so happy!

MGMHD gives us a Marathon of Thrills

So have you decided what your costume is this year? Last year was my first Halloween (I’m British…we just don’t really celebrate it) and I decided to go the Jesus route. It went down pretty well…not shaving for three months gave me an authenticity that the other Jesus contenders didn’t have. Good times.

This year I’m doing a group thing (there are 5 in total). I won’t ruin the surprise but believe me when I say it’s going to be epic!

If you are staying in this Halloween though I’ve just been told that MGMHD are doing a marathon of horror flicks, bombarding their audience with classic after classic like a hoard of zombies coming at you in your worst nightmare…relentless!

Best of all it is a two day event. So even if you are out scaring people all night on October 31st you’ve got Sunday 1st to chill and be chilled.

Here is the Press Release we just issued. It’s going to be one spine chilling weekend….MMWHAHAHAHHAHAHA!

Fame - Before they were famous!

I love those ‘before they were famous’ shows where you get people like David Bowie, aka The founder of The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Long-haired Men, voicing his distress over being called a ‘girl.’ How the times changed hey?! Well I just read our latest release and I love MGM HD's vibe.

MGM HD is celebrating the release of the new movie Fame with a month long series of movies. What makes them have anything to do with the new movie Fame I hear you ask?

Opening up the MGM vault, MGM HD will be broadcasting awesomeness like Sid & Nancy, Six Degrees of Separation and Johnny Be Good. These are the films that are considered by many as the breakout roles for the likes of Gary Oldman, Will Smith and Uma Thurman. You see, these are the films that made them famous…in support of the new film Fame…

Here's what they have -

Sunset Beat
Disturbing Behavior
Six Degrees of Separation

Once Bitten
Man in the Moon
Stardust Memories
Innocent Lies
Nicholas Nickleby
Babes in Toyland
Sunday Bloody Sunday
1969
Sid & Nancy
Mystery Date
Johnny Be Good
Modern Girls

Watch the trailers and see if you can guess who is in what...

Wait a minute…Gary Oldman was Sid in Sid & Nancy?! How the hell did I not know that?!

Inglourious Basterds: Exclusive Behind-The-Scenes Documentary

I was watching Pulp Fiction again last night in an, I CAN’T BLOODY WAIT, anticipation for Quentin Taranteno’s latest venture Inglourious Basterds. I’m getting more and more exited as the minutes tick down to Nazi bashing time.

Needless to say when MGM sent me a peek at their exclusive 30 minute behind-the-scenes making of documentary,“HOW TO BE A BASTERD: INSIDE THE NEW FILM BY QUENTIN TARANTINO”…well you can imagine.

“It doesn’t suck to be me!”

For those not in the know This TV launched a year ago and is cleared in over 70% of the U.S. Here is a press release about it that we sent out not so long back. Have a sneaky peek.

Anyway, it airs THURSDAY 8/20 (10p-10:30p & 8/22 12a-12:30a) and is definitely worth a look if you are as excited about this movie as I am.

Oh I saw District 9 yesterday. You should go and see it today. Enough said.
